Undaunted:Normandy

 This isn't the first time I've enjoyed a game from the Undaunted series of games from Osprey Games. Nye and I have played a number of the missions in the SAS/LRDG version of the game at SWWG. The tile, counter and card game is easy to learn and quick to set up which for some club nights is a bonus.

This was our first outing with the Normandy game however.

Our first game of the evening made full use the expansion elements and we battled with a good sized company of infantry and armour apiece.  While Nye's Germans built up in his deployment zone and took some effective AT shots at the oncoming American armour the American infantry quickly advanced up each flank to control enough objective points to claim the win.

With time to spare we decided on a quick second game. With just some infantry elements at hand battle was again joined.

This time in a complete reversal of his usual defensive tactics, Nye's Germans were able to rush into the centre of the battlefield to take control of an objective ending the game two turns in while my US troops were still deploying. 

This is a brilliant game, I enjoyed the SAS version immensely and this version especially with the expansion  pack is just as good and I look forward to many more games especially when the Battle of Britain version Nu=ye has on order turns up..
